A Unique Background
Therapy and meditation helped me create a life that doesn't suck. As a patient, I was surprised by how much - and how sustainably - I was able to improve my mental health. Years later and I’m still delighted by how joyful, abundant, and deeply connected life can be. I went back to school to become a therapist and meditation teacher because I wanted to help other people transform their lives, just like my therapist helped me transform mine. Now, my goal is to use everything that I've learned in service of helping you fall back in love with yourself and your life. I know that can sound like a tall order. Challenge accepted.
World-class executive coach & speaker
Prior to becoming a therapist, I spent a decade serving as an executive coach and speaker, delivering engagements in top-tier colleges, universities, conferences, and corporations around the world. I worked with senior executives in Fortune 100 enterprises, high-ranking government leaders from multiple countries (including Obama's White House), elite athletes, and professional entertainers. I spoke on leadership, confidence, self-love, and self-compassion.
An Early Calling
As a child, I was obsessed with magic. At 6 years old, I did my first show. By the time I was 10, I was performing professionally, often for audiences made up entirely of adults. Through my work as a magician I began learning about sophisticated psychological concepts. At 12 years old, I delivered lectures to university-level psychology classes on how professional magicians use tactics and tricks to defeat the mind.
I stopped performing magic professionally when I went to college. Upon graduation, I began working in leadership development (hence the speaking and coaching mentioned above). As time went on, I noticed that many of the people I worked with had great lives on paper, but were quietly struggling with their relationship to themselves. In truth, I was too. I started focusing on self-love and self-compassion, first for myself, and then for my audiences and clients. I began training therapists on how to help their clients develop self-love and compassion too. Finally, in my early 30s, I stopped working as a speaker and coach so that I could return to school and follow my heart by becoming a licensed therapist.
As a therapist, I incorporate what I’ve learned from my previous careers and have the privilege of helping clients of all types — including other health-care providers — unlock self-love, and self-compassion, and form better relationships with themselves.
Our Target Breakthrough Results
Clients who work with me can be assured that they are partnering with a therapist who has invested (and continues to invest) a great deal of effort and time into cultivating and strengthening his own mental health. I know what it takes to achieve sustainable breakthroughs because I’ve done it myself. And while the specific steps are different for different people, my personal experience on the path allows me to better serve my clients. I believe that this is one of the reasons why many of my clients who have not realized significantly positive outcomes with other therapists often make meaningful progress with me.
Sometimes You Have To Play Personal Interests
I am an avid meditator and credit my daily meditation practice for unlocking a much deeper relationship with myself, others, and the world. When I am not serving my clients—which is without question my most invigorating and rewarding pursuit—I enjoy fitness (especially kettlebells), traveling (anywhere I can catch a wave and walk on the beach is awesome), reading (I have a soft spot for science fiction), and spending time with friends (especially dinner parties and game nights). I can’t wait to get back to traveling and game nights when this pandemic is over!
