Jason Connell Therapy

I became a therapist because I got good therapy.

Now I help people solve the problems that achievement can’t fix.

I was at the top of my game when I noticed something was wrong

At the time, I was a professional speaker and executive coach. I could sell out conferences and auditoriums across North America. I was a trusted advisor to executives at Fortune 500s, senior members of two different White House administrations, and leaders on professional sports teams.

I started raising capital to build a much larger operation in the mental healthcare space.

And yet: I was quietly miserable. I struggled in relationships, I was out of sync with my friends and I had everything I thought I wanted, but I couldn’t enjoy any of it.

Amidst the chaos of speaking tours and meetings with investors, I went on a meditation retreat in the Rocky Mountains. It finally hit me: no amount of success, external validation, or even love was going to fix whatever was wrong inside of me. And, continuing to overwork and distract myself from my pain certainly wasn’t going to work either.

So I did the exact thing I was trying to avoid: I called a therapist.

And…it worked.

My life literally became better than I thought was possible for me. I started waking up happy most days. I fell back in sync with my friends. My anxiety faded away, as did the nagging sense that I was an imposter. I was finally enjoying the success I’d created for myself. Best of all, I built a flourishing relationship and got married.

About halfway through the process I went back to the Rocky Mountains for another meditation retreat. Three days in, it hit me: I don’t want to run a mental healthcare company, I want to be a therapist. I found a way out of the maze, and I want to help other people do the same.

So I returned the investors’ money and went back to school. At the time, I was still working as an executive coach. In the mornings, I’d work with my clients to help them sharpen their leadership ability, in the afternoon I was an intern and student learning to help people heal their inner injuries.

Today, I combine the lived experience of being successful but empty with years of clinical training. I’ve spent thousands of hours serving clients 1:1 to help high achievers solve the problems that success can’t.

If this resonates with you, I’d welcome a conversation.

Schedule Initial Consultation

What can I expect during the initial consultation?

Clinical depth combined with a results orientation.

I keep my caseload intentionally small so I can give real thought to each client’s work — not just during sessions, but between them.

This complimentary, 50-minute consultation is a chance for us to see if we’re a good fit for one another. We’ll talk about what you want to work on, what’s helped in the past, and what hasn’t.

What therapy modalities do you use?

I combine three main modalities — depending on what fits my client.

My post-graduate training includes deep dives into three complementary modalities: Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Somatic Experiencing (SE) and Buddhist Psychology.

These create a dynamic approach to persistent problems like depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, compulsive behaviors, and deeper questions of meaning and fulfillment.
